Birds have landed in my paintings once again, and a fox has appeared in the woods. This was sparked by a trip to see the bee-eaters in Leicestershire, but it was their unfortunate absence that necessitated the painting. Spending lots of time in the garden this summer led to lots of foliage appearing in the backgrounds of the two circular pieces. In fact, these are my first circular paintings, and I have two larger round panels lined up. The fox painting is my local wood, and I just felt like I was being watched by a fox when I last visited. ‘Flight’ is a reworked painting and the Scottish Loch came to life with the rising corvids.
